Film, also called movie or motion picture, is a medium used to simulate experiences that communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty or atmosphere by the means of recorded or programmed moving images along with other sensory simulations.
It can also refer to the medium that captures the images… a thin flexible strip of plastic or other material coated with light-sensitive emulsion for exposure in a camera, used to produce photographs or motion pictures
What do you think of when you hear the word film? Do you think of a movie? it could be a movie became known as a film due to the medium used for the pictures, which are then run through a projector. A film can also be a thin coating across another surface, pond scum comes to mind.
